Pointing out the passages would indeed be a bit of a difficult task, time not-withstanding. There are a few passages in WILL TO POWER that I tried to point to earlier. The problem, in part, is that in large part what your asking for -- i.e., direct references where Nietzsche talks about this repetition -- aren't quite there (a reason for the ambiguity mentioned earlier). The argument is indeed drawn largely from notes, and largely from notes that haven't been translated into English (the NASCHLASS). But it's also drawn in large part from readings that aren't directly related to the eternal return. Rather, they are drawn from Nietzsche's critiques of metaphysics, identity, truth and science, as well as passages concerning will to power, transmutation, overcoming, etc. My recommendation (as it almost always is with Nietzsche) is that you take a look at Deleuze's NIETZSCHE AND PHILOSOPHY, which probably contains all the textual evidence you could possibly want to look at. It doesn't say everything that probably should be said about Nietzsche (what book does?) but it does seize upon some very powerful elements in his thought, and it draws quite a bit on the NACHLASS. Also, it's not Heidegger. Nathan widder-AT-vax.lse.ac.uk --- from list nietzsche-AT-jefferson.village.virginia.edu --- ------------------
