It is a faith in logic as opposed to a faith in God. Differences born of philosophical ideology have been just as destructive as religion. The Nazis in particular were fans of Nietzsche's philosophy (albeit highly misinterpreted). In a message dated 7/18/98 10:00:07 AM, you wrote: <<>I would hardly call the cathedrals beautiful, They are ominous, dark and >gruesome. >Also, Mother Teresa was a crook, with the money she received in one year she >could have built the most state-of-the-art hospital the world has ever seen. >ANd her phony smug modesty, oh, how she bragged about her modesty! >Religions (here I mean almost all) do nothing but separate people, and get >people killed in so-called "holy wars." The Indian Goverment must be delusional as well. Why don't you go there and enlighten it? The Gothic Cathedrals are ominous, dark, and gruesome, eh? Well, then, what about the Sistine Chapel? What about Hagia Sophia before it was turned into a mosque? Religions do nothing but seperate people,eh? Maybe so. But I don't see that Nietzscheanism has brought about an era of jovial unity, at least not on this list. Toodles, Inspector Rhodes >> --- from list nietzsche-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
