malgosia,
you get no argument from me that one does not act upon one's self in
isolation and each action upon one's self is of necessity a double action.i
wholheartedly agree with that statement.when one acts upon one's self that
action reverberates.it impacts in sometimes subtle and sometimes obvious
ways on those one chooses to surround one's self with as well as those that
one associates with more peripherally...like ripples in a pond.
i guess our essential difference is maybe what it means to say Yes to
life, what is life-affirming...and what is the best way to get there.

like cage,i also hate muzak(who doesn't???).i think his justification which
you cited was on point.i also think one could posit that to follow your
example if one is going to silence the muzak it should be replaced with a
joyful noise.i don't think one should be an assassin in a void.i also think
that though i may not like muzak, may in fact flee from public places when i
hear it...to some it is quite musical.(i don't know who these "some"
are..).i disagree,i may even try to constructively convince them of the
horrors of muzak, but they are still entitled to their opinion and their
delusion.
