My point was neither gratuitous nor an insult.  Rather it was a check on Dan's
own gratuitous (and downright snobbish) dismissal of all Nietzsche criticism.
As well read and as apparently precocious as Dan is, his original comment on
secondary sources (and his implied lamentation: alas, how can we warriors
expect anyone to measure up to our standard?) deserved to be branded what it
was: sophomoric.  I say let's give credit where it is deserved (and kudos to
Dan to be sure).  I don't mean any ill-will toward Dan.  But let's not
uncritically accept shine-ola even from the brightest, because that is where
the path to ressentiment lies.
