Nietzsche derived much of his interpretation of Buddhism from
Schopenhauer, who relied upon poor translations of a limited sample of
works.  That said, I think that many variants of Buddhism (Suzuki observes
that this is also true of strands of zen buddhism) have led to
quietism.  The relation of such passivity to the "sacred yes," _amor
fati_, and the eternal return poses interesting questions, I think.  That
seems to resonate with the line Heidegger takes, which does not sit very
well with me.
