From: "Fiaz Khan" <fiazk-AT-psh.paknet.com.pk> Subject: The Germans and the East Date: Wed, 20 Jun 2001 13:59:45 +0500 What do all of you say to the fact that Nietzsche's inclinations were basically "eastern" in tase and morality. That he chose the name of a perian prophet for his greatest work ? What opnions do we have regarding the relationship german philosophers had with their eastern counterparts ? e.g.. Schopenhaur and the hindus, Goethe and the persians and in modern times like Hermann Hesse and hinduism/buddhism. And why is this relationship so pronounced and deep among the germans rather than the normal run-of-the mill anglo saxon philosophers ?
