Yea, I'll second that. please send some more info. Although it is a little
removed, I'm in the early stages of planning a paper on Coltrane's late
period (particularly Ascension) and Deleuze's transcendental empiricism /
refrain. I've come across numerous quotes from various sources that use
free jazz as an analogy for thinking 'becoming'. Perhaps of some use is
this rather politically questionable quote from Wynton Marsalis, who
suggests that jazz 'gives us a glimpse into what America is going to be when
it becomes itself'. Obviously he's talking a very different language from
both N and Deleuze but it may be of some interest. Secondly, but again this
is more related to Nietzsche's 20th C untimely followers .... have you
thought about Derrida's problematic relationship with America -
Deconstruction in America and the lectures for Paul de Mann. Likewise,
there is D&G's constant champion of Anglo-American literature as rhizomatic.
Just some thoughts that are a little tangential to your question but if you
could give us some more to go on.........

Cheers,

Alan Nicholson
