It's a quasi-academic slogan of little meaning, and I will not capitulate to it. Kev should also consider that in "Self Reliance," Emerson extols the value of work and flexibility. His "liberal democrat' apologism for neo-colonialists genocide" is a bunch of stale cliches culled from cultural studies that serve to allow him a self-justifying view -- "it seems to his friends and to himself that he is right in being disheartened, and in complaining the rest of his life." (Self Reliance) Addressing Kevin directly, Emerson writes: "Any relation to the land, the habit of tilling it, or mining it, or even hunting on it, generates the feeling of patriotism.
