Thad,

Just wanted to add. There's one crowd that tries to scare you by threatening
to sue you. There's another crowd that tries to scare you by threatening to
write a book about you. They're all bullshitting. Anyone who has a court
case goes to court and doesn't just run off at the mouth. Anyone who has
anything worth putting in a book writes the book, and doesn't just run off at
the mouth.

Assuming that John Young is a mouth in search of something to say, the old
Puritan (or Quaker?) practice of shunning really has a lot to recommend it,
and I've seen it work on other lists. I'm going to erase his stuff without
reading it. If too many people are answering him (I hope you won't), maybe
Reg will allow a JY prefix, so that I don't have to read any answers people
send him either. Or maybe a BS prefix would be better. We could use it for
all the John Youngs who come along, because they're all essentially the same.
Also, it would remind the person answering that he or she was maybe wasting
time answering a bunch of BS that is probably better ignored.

Lots of people can't handle the anonymity of the internet, and gear
themselves up to get even for every gripe they've ever had against anyone
ever. If some guy on a bus kept trying to get into your pants, I don't think
you'd feel obliged to talk to him. This guy is no different. He's probably
jealous because George was helping you with those poems and wasn't talking to
him.

Stongly recommmend shunning, but see what makes sense to you. If you do
answer, please us the BS prefix, so I know to use the delete key. Thanks.
