The Gnostics believed the "heliologoi" (if I've got it right) was a demiurge equivalent to the Hindu Indra, the local god in charge of this small part of the universe, a minor Zeus. Milton also has some beautiful solar imagery. But I've got to go back to the brochure I'm writing and make hay while ... you guessed it.
