Hi folks,

Things have been quiet on the list lately.   Anyway, here is a query meant
primarily for George who is a self-professed devotee of Thoreau but open to
anyone else who has an opinion, of course.

In his eulogy to Thoreau, Emerson remarks that Thoreau was a stoic.  Do you
agree?  (I'm wondering if there is a reasonable argument against the
assessement.)
