Troy, and Howard, and George, and Rene and all are commended
for enlivening this listless server. Rage and rant and slur and bait --
Troy has had a knack for that, so much so that I suspect he is a
character invented by one of the others, Reg, say, or any of the
malevolents passing for distinguished disaccomplishers, who
must it never be forgotten, are condemned to contemping
received wisdom in all ages and pretensions.

Students of scholars and scholars of students are rather
much indistinguishable if all goes as planned, their inter-
changeability and supercession of settled wisdom by that
which is superior to it. And it requires hammerblows to
dislodge the narcotizing certainty of the snoozer.

Same for manners: hardly abiding them is a mark of boorish
discontent with the listlessness that suffuses any human
gathering overruled by rules of proper behavior.

I count on Reg Lilly never allowing such misanthropy happen
here.

This probably belongs under the Marxism thread, but to hell
with that bloom's burying.
