No you weren't.  

You were doing to David exactly what you do above and to others who do not
share your very idiosyncratic reading of Eliot.

You misconstruct what your opponents say, while sliding sooner or
later (sooner in my case) to the implication that they must
themselves be antisemitic if they disagree with you.

I do not think you can break this pattern in which you habitually present
yourself as someone who bases her interpretions on actual reading and
thinks for herself,  while explaining disagreement with you as clear  
evidence that others are locked into preconceptions and morally flawed.
