lets remember that social ecology is mainly an
eco-anarchist tendency so indeed it is rather
predictable that they must have enough sentiments
againts "the will to order". but as a matter of fact
indeed in the work of murray bookchin there isnt just
a commitment towards descentralization, local
democracy and such. there is a development and a
discussion of how this could be and how this could
become possible.
but on the issue of the will to order. the will to
order is sufficiently opposed by showing how this
condition of extreme concentration of power has come
to be. so indeed there isnt just a commitment againts
"the will to order" but one which tries to undertand
it consequences in contemporary society and its
mechanisms. indeed moral and spiritual calls are
definitely important and so is also analysis and
proposals. these should go hand in hand.
and indeed the tendency of libertarian communism
speaking from an ecological perspective also seeks to
control the privatization of nature rampant today
along with the main partner of this which is
bureacracy and modern politics. a challenge to current
basic assuptions of what development is and growth and
such is something that will come. i dont want to play
here the role of cheerleader of social ecology againts
deep ecology. i think the insights and contributions
of both should be joined. anyway i know of enough
commitment againts capital and state within deep
ecology to really want to dismiss it.
