Frankly, he is critiquing the the use of I.F. to up hold liberal-democratic capitalism, he is not arguing for a respect for difference approach at all. He is extremely critical of the repsect for difference position which he connects, rightly in my view, with post-structuralism and American Cultural Studies. And as for Badiou, that position is the main target of his book!--he basically calls for an indifference to difference. None of this argues, as Katsiafiacas does, for a coexistence, it is pointing instead for a radical break with liberal capitalism and showing how an argument of coexistence or repect for difference is thoroughly part of liberal capitalist ideology. Personnaly that is closer to my position. But I will post a piece on the Badiou very soon--out of reading the intro and the first chapter--and perhaps then my point will be clearer. best, sasha ====------------- Anarchist Discussion Board -- Also for response to KKA, WD and Aporia: http://pub47.ezboard.com/banarchykka The Killing King Abacus Page: http://www.geocities.com/kk_abacus __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
