Subject: [postanarchism] Re: (post)colonialism

have you read anything by neferti tadiar? she writes mostly on the
philippines (two books) and has also co-edited a volume with angela davis.
she also has co-taught with donna haraway on race and feminism and
postcolonialism. (at ucsc). another interesting ucsc person is john beller
(tadiars partner who was recently dropped and i think might be at sf state
now) who has written several essays on the philippines and also on the
concept of capital in deleuzes cinema books. strong work that critically
engages with the theories of postcoloniasm and neocolonialism. much more
politically challenging in my mind than bhabha or said or spivak. also i
think that bellers articulation of the theory of capital 'as cinema' is the
most important development in marxist critique in the last 25 years. yeah,
since mille plateau.
i wrote a paper a few years ago on fanons wretched of the earth as informed
by my concurrent reading of empire by hardt and negri. i cant remember if
it is worth salvaging or not but if you are interested i could hunt it down
once i am back in town.
i dont read much postcolonial stuff these days, actually very little
political theory at all. i am having too much fun picking celines brain and
obsessing over the italian director liliana cavani.
-daniel.

=it takes two to cogito.
