Subject: [postanarchism] Re: strategic essentialism

good points. id like to add that the theory of 'strategic essentialism' also
has a precursor in deleuze and guattari. in fact i think that all the
aspects of spivaks theory are already present, with a lot more subtelty and
fewer problems, in the anti-oedipus (to which i recall spivak giving a
partial acknowledgement but sans quotation or mcuh commentary -- to the
effect of 'yeah maybe i/we shoud reread that book').

i think that d+g avoid the problems you mentioned like the split between
theory and practice, the 'object' of critique, etc. one encounters the same
issues with 'ideology critique'. i could try to explicate d+gs sidestepping
of the problems of essentialism and ideology but yall seem to think its
spam. ha.

ps - have any of you seen the new zizek edited lenin collection? the first
half is lenin and the second half is zizeks commentary, which of coarse
might be as on-topic as his other books that are supposed to be 'about' a
particular subject. but anyway i am gonna start reading it today and would
love to discuss.

=it takes two to cogito.
