Helen,
there seems to be little available in novel format, but plenty of
autobiographies.
Try Rabbit Proof  Fence (can't remember author off the top of my head), has
also just been made into a feature film.
Also, Alice Nannup's When the Pelican Laughed is marvellous.
Henry Reynolds (Australian Academic) has also written widely on this issue,
factual research though. His latest is called Why Weren't We Told?
