You might like to look at Plains of Promise by Alexis
Wright (1997) or perhaps Her Sister's Eye (2002) or
Bitin' Back (2001), by Vivienne Cleven. They are
published here by University of Queensland Press and
are distributed in N.America by International Book
Services in Oregon. Plains of Promise deals with both
the issues you mention and all relate to issues of
femininity and aboriginality. I hope this is of some
help.
