Manmeet Singh,

I just received the schedule for Globalization and the Caribbean:  Women, 
Culture and Policy."  On Friday, April 14, a film series is planned from
1-6pm.  Films include "Haiti: Killing the Dream" (dir. Babeth Katharine 
Kean, Hart Perry, and Rudi Stern); "Haiti" (dir. Jorge Denti); "Kaiso for 
July 27th" (Dir. Karen Martinez); "I is a Long Memoried Woman" (dir. Frances-
Anne Solomon); "Sugar Cane Alley" (dir Euzhan Palcy); "Celebration! A
Caribbean Festival" (dir. Karen Kramer).  

Filmmaker Irma Iranzo Berrocal will speak from 7-10pm and screen two
of her shorts, "En Boricua" and "Yemaya."

Schedule for Saturday, April 15:

Speakers in the morning will address issues of politics, economics, and
globalization as the affect Caribbean women.

9:00-9:45	Opening Remarks:  Dr. Thomas Moylan, Dr. Dulce M. Cruz

10:00-12:00	Panel: Dr. Ileana Rodriguez, Dr. Lynn Bolles, Dr. Rosario
		Espinal

1:30-2:30	Performance--Sistren

Speakers in the afternoon will address issues of culture, literature and the
performing arts as they pertain to Caribbean women.

3:00-5:00	Panel:  Dr. Lisabeth Paravisini-Gerbert, Dr. Anuradha Dingwaney
		Needham, Dr. Hilda van Neck-Yoder

5:00-5:30	Performance--Theater of the Diaspora
