Lectures will deal with intellectual and cultural history of the region, as well as the role of literature, art, the mass mediaa, and popular culture in a nominally postcolonial Spanish Caribbean. The multi-disciplinary character of the talks by over a dozen international leaders in the above fields will be further enhanced by contributions from distinguished writers and artists from the Spanish Caribbean.
