I must admit I also felt a "perverse sense of relief" when I found out the
ethnicity of the suspects.  Every person of color I have talked to          
also expressed this sense of relief.  I m not proud of this defensiveness
but it is a learned behavior.  

A friend pointed out that because the subjects were European
Americans, they are now "Individuals", not representative of a
nation or ethnicity.  How convienent.........
