Subject: Another info. query


I'm trying to research questions of nation and gender in relation to Taiwan
(not to put oo fine a point on it) - I was wondering if anyone out there knows
of any good publications - English or Chinese - dealing with Taiwanese history
since the start of Japanese colonization.  In the libraries of Taipei at least
there is incredibly little available on the subject - perhaps there are some
North American publications out there that I haven't been able to find here?
Anything anyone knows would be helpful - virtually all of what I have so far 
are recent Chinese publications from Taipei which don't *really* concentrate
on the issue of colonization.
