Raka,

I have done considerable work on South Asian diasporas in Britain. If
you like I can send you copies of papers or you could look for them (and
other people's work) in NEW COMMUNITY a journal published in England.
One paper based on interviews of South Asian women has just come outin an
anthology FEMINISM/POSTMORDENISM/DEVELOPMENT eds Marchand and Parpart
published by Routledge 1995. Another one based on S. Asian fiction is in
an anthology WRITING ACROSS TWO WORLDS eds White, Russell, and Connell
also just published by Routledge UK. If you have problems getting these
papers let me know.

There are several works of fiction by South Asian writers that arw
unfortunately difficult to get hold of - of cousre Kureishi's works are
available as are Rusdie's as well as anthologies published by the Women's
Press. But you should try and find works by Farrukh Dhondy, Amit Choudhury,
Rukshana Ahmad and Sumiti Namjoshi.

Good Luck,
Suresht
