Alpana:
I've been following Ahmad's disgruntlements with the Spivak/Bhabha/ postmod
postcolonial critique, which seem to be in line with his objections to
Jameson--his insistence on a particular approach to something like an
emphasis on what used at least to be called class analysis is a form
of bahhumbuggery which he has levelled, in a spirit of neo-MArxian fastidious-
ness, in his _In Theory_, in his piece on Jameson, as well as in places
like _Race and Class_ etc. I think he has a point, but I wonder if his
readers feel that he is indeed old fashioned or put on airs of being a purist?
What do you think of his work?
Samir
