Date: Sun, 27 Aug 1995 14:32:46 -0400 (EDT) From: SDAYAL-AT-bentley.edu Subject: Re: postcolonialiam and capitalism Alpana: I've been following Ahmad's disgruntlements with the Spivak/Bhabha/ postmod postcolonial critique, which seem to be in line with his objections to Jameson--his insistence on a particular approach to something like an emphasis on what used at least to be called class analysis is a form of bahhumbuggery which he has levelled, in a spirit of neo-MArxian fastidious- ness, in his _In Theory_, in his piece on Jameson, as well as in places like _Race and Class_ etc. I think he has a point, but I wonder if his readers feel that he is indeed old fashioned or put on airs of being a purist?
