I believe that some types of mailers do not allow people to see the
e-mail address of the author of the message; all that is visible,
in the header, is the address of the list.  Perhaps it would he*lp
if people tried to specify their own e-mail address in the
signature of each message.  

Sending personal messages through the list gives the list a certain
atmosphere of intimacy. but it is most definitely not everybody's
cup of tea, especially since many people have a very limited mailbox
allocation (and limited time to sift through their mail).  So my 
suggestion is: please put your address in your signature, and please
use these personal addresses when sending messages that are not
meant for the list as a whole.
