I have noticed myself, and several people who I've talked to have confirmed, that messages (or at least, issues) often vanish into the ether, with only private responses if any at all. This is true not only of this group, but of others. It may be more noticed when it is an issue that you have raised. And, familiarity with conditions is a factor -- one or two postings cannot make up for local media attention.
