Hi,
I just found out about this List and have been sitting in front of the
computer for the last four hours... It is a dream come true (well, not
right now at least..).. but for a very little problem... I don't know how
to join the List or how to send my messages to it... If this seems silly
then you should have seen me last year...

I am doing my Ph.D. in Humanities in a hell-hole (or should I hell-whole)
called University of Texas at Arlington...(yes I had never heard of it
either..)...before I decided to come here from University of Kent at
Canterbury, England... well, so much for self pity...

I am working on an article on Salman Rushdie's (or Rush(to)die, as a
reviwer called him) latest novel, "The Moor's Last Sigh"... in regards to
his misogynistic representation of women (like most of the postmodernist
fiction) and his role as a "spokesperson" for the Indian subcontinent....
I would love to hear from what other subscribers to this List have to say
about...

Thank-you
Furrukh Khan
