it depends on what meanings you wish to impose on the term. note that it 
is a term - it terminates and places limits on a potential concept that 
could go either way. and it also depends on whether or not you consider 
yourself a postcolonial, a postcolonial scholar or the result of the 
commodification of postcolonies. the use-value is contingent on the 
prevalent politics. but this depends on one's so-called discipline.
