That is precisely what happens: When someone with Pegasus reads a message generated by Pegasus, with the RCPT request turned on, the RCPT is sent to +all 500 list members+. (No loop.) Ordinarily, the developers of the software must have reasoned, the RCPT would go only to the person who wrote the post, and h/she would then know how many folks, and what sort, constituted h/her audience. But since we distribute the posts, the message goes out over the list to everyone. The reason I keep asking you about South Africa is (1) most of the messages generating RCPT responses originate in Capetown, and (2) so far as I can tell, virtually all of the posts you folks down-under are not getting also come from Capetown. michael >The strangeness continues. Does this create a loop of some kind. > >Ron >Ron Blaber >Communication and Cultural Studies >Curtin University >Bentley >Western Australia 6102 > >Ph (09) 351 7080 >Fax (09) 351 7726 >email Tblaberrl-AT-CC.curtin.edu.au > or Rblaber-AT-b208.curtin.edu.au > > > --- from list postcolonial-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- > --- from list postcolonial-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- ------------------
