A troll is Internet parlance for a message which is deliberately crafted to
be inordinately stupid or seemingly clueless in order to provoke a flood of
outraged corrections, objections, and the like. It's from "trolling", the
practice in fishing of putting some bait on a hook and boating all around a
lake, waiting to see which fish will rise to the lure.
