Hello--

I find that Nathaniel Mackey's works--poetry, essays, etc.--are really 
interesting in thinking about the African American art, writing, jazz, 
and the use of the crossroads, Legba, etc.  While quite a few of his 
essays address this, I really like his *Beduoin Hornbook* in this regard.
