Luz,

Robert Bontine (R.B.) Cunninghame Graham is an author you might want to
add to your list of Brits writing about Latin America. Although he is
best known for his friendship with Joseph Conrad, his fiction has its
interesting moments. The collection _Thirteen Stories_ has some pieces
set in Uruguay and elsewhere. Also, you might want to see his _South
American Sketches_. Hugh MacDiarmid (of all people) and Cedric Watts have
both written biographies of this fascinating professed anti-imperialist
member of the decayed landed aristocracy.
