"Green Fried Tomatoes" and "Who Loves Gilbert Grape?"

Bigas Luna's "Jamon, Jamon" and "Huevos de Oro" ("Golden Eggs") ... They are
not exactly postcolonial. However, the garlic-sniffing scene in "Jamon,
Jamon" and the many gastronomic references deserve attention.

The Cuban film "Fresa y Chocolate" ("Strawberry and Chocolate") is an
excellent postcolonial film although it exploits flavours rather than food.
