IŽll second that.  An even better example in a post colonial context 
though is his "Clock of Iceland" (I'm not quite sure about the english 
title).  Orig.publ. in Icelandic in 1943 the year before Icelands full 
political independance, one of its main themes is the collection of 
Icelandic manuscripts that were shipped to Danemark by the thousands in 
the 17th and 18th century.

P.s. IdonŽt know how available the english translation is by now, but I 
know that the french one is easily obtainable.
