The English Department at Ohio State University has a tenure-track opening
for a specialist in post-colonial (trans-national) literature(s) and theory.
The job would begin in Autumn 1997; rank is Assistant Professor. As an
English Department, we naturally will give preference to those working on
post-colonial literature in English but we are open about period, genres,
locales. The position will be posted in the forthcoming _MLA Job
Information List_, but we are now ready to receive letters of application
and cv's from qualified candidates (Ph.D. must be in hand by Spring 1997).
Address letters to James Phelan, Dept. of English, Ohio State U., 164 W.
17th Ave., Columbus, OH 43210-1370. All letters will be acknowledged. OSU
is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer. Application deadline
is Nov. 15. We will conduct interviews at the MLA convention in Washington
this December.

Jim Phelan, Professor and Chair
OSU, Dept. of English
