The conference was at Cornell and called Algeria in and out of French.
Derrida and Cixous gave papers on their relationship to Algeria on Friday,
Oct. 4 and were on a roundtable on Saturday afternoon with other Algerian
intellectuals. Discussion was very heated.  The lectures were taped and I
gather that the conference is also the subject of a documentary film.
Proceedings will also be published in book form at some stage.  Those
interested can write to Anne Berge of the Romance Studies Department at
Cornell for more information.
