hello Ned, yes it is hard to "tolerate" right-wing/shaky logic - but my 
point was less about tolerance than about expressing oneself tolerantly, 
which is to say less harshly, less personally, far more constructively.  
people might or might not be so well established in their respective 
disciplines - but sorry, professional/personal disappontments are simply 
no excuse.  I would have thought that just being in the humanities and 
social sciences would have taught us this.  But I've said much more than 
I wanted to already, so -- Deepa
