Subject: Women, Guerillas, and Love: New Book Date: Tue, 17 Sep 1996 17:47:39 -0400 (EDT) FYI-- University of Minnesota Press has a new book which examines the relationship of gender and sexuality to writing and state building during revolutionary movements. "Women, Guerrillas, and Love" by Ileana Rodriguez (1996) focuses on "politically committed" literature (works of Che Guevara, Omar Cabezas, Tomas Borge, Sergio Ramirez, and Arturo Arias) to explain what went wrong in the process of liberation in Central America. More importantly, Rodriguez uses these texts to analyze the relationship between the collective and woman, and between woman and the nation-state. -anupama --- from list postcolonial-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
