You might want to add the series of governemt (often by Marxist governemts) 
bans that took place in Kerala, India, right before the Last Temptation 
movie came out. A Kerala playwright staged a play based on the novel 
and it created such a furor that the Marxists were at the forefront 
banning the play. The playwright PM Antony was branded a Naxalite 
and the ban followed a year-long debate about censorship and then 
the Scorcese movie came out!
