In reply to Windsor Leroke's post on the Fanon discussion: I agree that it
would be interesting to have anyone who has (or can) read the original text
in French comment on the translation. I've read a number of complaints about
Constance Farrington's translation, but have a quite limited capacity for
reading French myself, and so would be interested in hearing from others.

I would also, as the discussion unfolds, be interested in talking about the
ways in which the argument of THE WRETCHED OF THE EARTH turns back on itself;
that is, the way in which Fanon himself calls into questions many of the
famous pronouncements in the chapter "Concerning Violence" in later chapters
such as "Spontaneity" and "The Pitfalls of National Consciousness."
