Subject: cultural studies/media studies

I have just recently started a Cultural Studies/Media Studies group at my
college called Media Circus. (http://hampshire.edu/~mcircus/). our
goals right now are screenings, lectures, lending library, and
workshopping our papers. if anyone has any ideas, comments or
suggestions i'd love to hear them. Hampshire just lost one good faculty
member to another school, and our dept. is lacking, hence the need for
the group. as well, i'm doing a paper for sut jhally's class. It could
be anything relating to advertising. I want to do a paper on
representations of the "other" in UK and US adverts. any suggestions?
thanks.
