Assistant Professor in Twentieth-Century British Literature 
University of Kansas, English
Lawrence, KS 66045-2115 

Tenure-track; begin 8/18/97, contingent upon final budgetary approval. 
Duties: Teaching courses in British literature of the twentieth century,
British literature surveys, introductory literature, and possibly
introductory composition; research/writing leading to publication; 
service. Required qualifications: Specialization in the study of British
literature of the twentieth century; evidence of successful teaching; 
preparation to teach introductory and advanced courses in specialty,
introductory literature courses, and introductory composition; PhD
completed by starting date. Preferred qualifications: Relevant
publication; competence in postcolonial approaches. Application must
include letter of application, CV, transcript, and at least three recent
letters of recommendation that evaluate scholarship and teaching. Full
