Subject: film/video about language

Sending this again as i forgot to ahve a subject. Sorry!
i wrote the script for a video documentary ( (actually a docu-drma) on
bilingualism and administration in Sri lanka. Although this was
commissioned by an NGO in Colombo with a view toward promoting effective
use of Sinhala and Tamil in administratiion the documentary brought out
the complications surrounding bilingualism wtihin the "civil" war situation
of Sri Lanka and the tenacious grip of English in the postcolonial context.

The documentary is called "Language, Power, People" and was doen in all
three languages of the country (Sinhala, Tamil and English). It was
directed by Dharmasena PAthiraja who is in Melbourne at the moment.
Unfortuantely idont have a copy bhut coudn ask for one form International
Centre fro Ethnic Studies, COlombo. If you have access to them you could
ask them directly if you are interested.
