Arindam: How about Nuruddin Farh's MAPS--that great moment in the novel when
the twelve year old boy starts to mestruate. the novel is qute replete with
blood and the pain of menstruation. I am assuming you are familiar with
Achille Mbembe's work on bodily excrements etc in terms of power and the
postcolonial body. Another novel I recently read (not as powerful) is by
Anita Levy where the character of the father is associated with disease and
lack of control over bodily fluids. Its called Every Light in the House
