  I've just joined this list, so I don't know exactly what the shit,
piss, blood discussion has mentioned. I would recommend David Lloyd's
"Writing in the Shit: Beckett, Nationalism, and the Colonial Subject"
>from his book Anomolous States: Irish Writing and the Post-Colonial 
Moment. His readings are elegant and grounded, and the relevance of his
theorizing extends beyond the Irish context. If this work has already been
mentioned, please excuse the repetition.
