It analyses the insertion of the jewish immigrant populatioin in the Dutch colonies of the Caribbean showing how the stereotypical figure of Central european origin as it is transplanted into the Caribbean setting by contemproary novellists, does not mean anything anymore, since the jewish population has adpated to its new surroundings, like any other group.
