Arindam, this may be a bit early for you, but have you looked at the
Victorian controversy surrounding Richard Burton's "Personal Narrative of
a Pilgrimage to Al-Medinah and Mecca"? Rumour has it he was caught
pissing in an unorthodox position and had to murder the Arab boy who saw
him, or he would have lost his disguise and possibly have been murdered
himself. While the truth of this rumour is debatable, it led to
some heated interchanges in the Victorian press, and Burton had to
publically defend himself (to Bram Stoker, among others). Most modern
Burton biographies have synopses, if you're interested. Also, his report
on the Karachi brothels, some of which was reproduced in, I think, the
terminal essay to the Arabian Nights, has references to bodily functions
as well.
