Special program on the Indian elections

Tune in to WBAI, New York, at 99.5 FM on Wednesday, the 8th of April, at 9
p.m. for a special hour-long program analysing the Indian elections and their
political aftermath. The program has been put together for WBAI's Asia Pacific
Forum by SAMAR (South Asian Magazine for Action and Reflection), and consists
of interviews with political figures and commentators in India and the United
States. Listeners will hear about the prospects for the Bharatiya Janata Party
and their allies in the government from

* Basheeruddin Babu Khan, member of the Telugu Desam Party who resigned
recently from his Andhra cabinet position in protest over the TDP's support
for the BJP government in the Centre.

Drought'

* Javed Anand, co-editor of 'Communalism Combat'

* Arvind Rajagopalan, Asstt Professor at Purdue University who has extensively
tracked U.S. based Sangh Parivar organizations
