Mrs O Cudian, Secretary, Islands V Secretariat ==============================================================================GUIDELINES FOR SECTION CONVENORS AND RAPPORTEURS ============================================================================== Conveneors at Islands V bear a major responsibility for the success of these meetings. Whilst all of us have considerable experience as conference attendees, here are some prompting notes of what people might wish to keep in mind for our organisation to be the most effective and consistent. Section Convenors should: 1). Determine the order and operation of their own Section based on papers contributed; 2). Appoint a Rapporteur to keep notes on proceedings for presentation at the ISISA General Meeting; 3) Encourage the formulation of appropriate resolutions for presentation at the ISISA General Meeting; 4) Foster the formation of ISISA Inter-Conference Commissions to continue their collaboration and discussions. When an ISISA Inter-Conference Commission is formed, the names and contact details of a Chair, Secretary-Deputy Chair and members should be presented as part of the end of conference summary at the ISISA General Meeting. 4) Advise the Islands V Secretariat of any changes to their Section so that this information can be posted and communicated at the daily updates. 5) Guide their speakers to keep within time limits for their presentation as a courtesy to colleagues. 6) Meet as a group over the morning break on Saturday 4 July to coordinate their presentations at the General Meeting that follows. --- from list postcolonial-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- --- from list postcolonial-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
